One of the original Faith shapes that launched the brand at the beginning of this century, this Saturn is a square-shouldered dreadnought design.

Based upon the traditional early 20th century designs, the Saturn is like an old friend: you know exactly what to expect, and it always delivers just as you would want.

Faith Natural series were the very first style of Faith Guitar, and are a classic combination of Spruce and Mahogany.

Using high grade Englemann Spruce for the top and satin finished Mahogany for the back and sides, Natural models feature solid Ebony binding and Macassan Ebony for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate and heelcap. Tonally, this combination of wood is generally warm, sweet and mellow, delivering an overall balanced tone.

The importance of body shape:

The Original Faith Dreadnought model from the original Faith Guitar series. Back in 2002 when Faith guitars were conceived, the Saturn Dreadnought was an obvious model choice, representing the guitar shape that the history of music remembers most fondly. Now in its third major iteration, this iconic Saturn Dreadnought model has stood the test of time with its classic tonewood combination and its simple beauty.

Which tonewoods are used and why?

The top of the Natural Saturn is Premium-grade Engelmann Spruce, and the back and sides are made from our favourite Indonesian Mahogany, both of which are all-solid, of course. The Spruce top is finished with a gloss lacquer whereas the back and sides have a soft satin sheen. As spruce is naturally stiff and resonant, when it is lacquered, the resonant overtones are controlled a little more than if it were satin finished, so the tone is a little more focussed.

How does it all come together?

The combination of Spruce and Mahogany has long been a favorite for acoustic guitars, offering a harmonious blend of clarity and warmth. In the Natural series, these tonewoods are left in their original state, showcasing their authentic colors and grain patterns, with only the electronics subtly interrupting their understated beauty. All other fittings on the Natural models, including the fingerboard, bridge, pins, and headplate, are crafted from Solid Indonesian Ebony. This premium hardwood is typically dark, featuring deep colours often displayed in a striped pattern.

The Natural series Saturn model is elegantly bound with solid Rosewood, which frames the lighter woods with its richly grained, deep reddish-brown hues.
