Beneath the outer, true character resides.

Faith Naked models have the very soul of the guitar exposed for all to hear and experience. Each instrument is beautiful in its simplicity and unadorned with cosmetic additions, and as such, it is more accessible to players of all levels.

The importance of body shape:

The importance of body shape:

Another of the 3 original Faith body shapes launched in the winter of 2002, the Mercury parlour continues to amaze with its remarkably strident tone that belies its smaller size. Although visually smaller than most others, the body still retains a reasonable depth and has the bridge positioned a little lower than usual too. The neck also joins the body at the 12th fret – rather than the 14th for most regular acoustic guitars – so the string tension is comparatively low resulting in a very easy-playing character.

Which tonewoods are used and why?

Which tonewoods are used and why?

The top of the Naked Mercury is Engelmann Spruce and the back and sides are Indonesian Mahogany, both of which are all-solid, of course, and they both have a soft satin finish too. The satin finish is made with a small number of thin layers of lacquer, allowing for a faster and more cost-effective completion compared to a glossy finish. The crucial advantage lies in the satin finish's ability to let the all-solid tonewood move and resonate more freely, unrestricted by lots of lacquer. This freedom of movement results in a lively, exciting, and continuously evolving tone with the body proudly showcasing the marks of every musical encounter.

How does it all come together?

How does it all come together?

The Spruce and Mahogany combo has long been a default acoustic guitar recipe, and for good reason too. The sonic and visual brightness of the Spruce is tamed a little by the more mellow, softwood tones of the mahogany. True to its ‘Naked’ name, all the woods used are left to show their original colours and grain patterns.

Each Naked model also has a striped Ebony fingerboard, bridge and bridge pins

Best value (sound quality)guitar I have bought.

    Brian Reynolds -
Exellent well constructed instrument , looks good , comfortable to play with no sharp fret edges , great tone !
    James Holland -
I typically play Taylor acoustic 6 string and a Martin 12 string. I was looking for a small travel or parlor guitar to practice on while working security job...the Faith Mercury appeal to me because of size and online recommendations, but I was shocked by the tone and playability...I now spend 95% playing my Faith guitar...they are affordable and fantastic.
    Gene Anderson -
    Sounds fantastic.

It's so acoustically responsive I can hear it ring when we are talking in the room whilst it's just hung up on the wall!
    Chris Myers -

I enjoy playing the Faith Mercury Naked, has a bright sound (not always my favourite) yet the action is very good.

Brilliant guitar. Lovely action. Wonderful sound goes on forever!
    George NORWELL -
My third Faith, first Parlour guitar. Impressed with sound. Build quality seems good except fret ends. Wish we had a more robust US dealer presence. Would love to buy your hard case but shipping from UK to the U.S. would double cost.
    Edward Randel -
Only just got it. Have played a friends a few times so I was impressed enough to buy one. Unfortunately in Australia there are not too many around so I could buy the model I really wanted, but hey with a little more 'Faith' I may just order from overseas, just means I can't try it first.
    Gary Whatley -
Excellent guitar , the build quality, sound and looks are worthy of a much higher priced instrument. Faith produce quality guitars at a reasonable price.

    Pete Bainbridge -
Beautiful instrument. Small in size but big in sound.
    Robert Nixon -
I AM THRILLED WITH MY GUITAR. THE BUILD QUALITY IS FANTASTIC WITH A SOUND TO MATCH. TO GET AN ALL SOLID WOOD GUITAR OF THIS QUALITY IS AMAZING. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE BRIDGE PINS SEEM A BIT TOO LOOSE AND DONT STAY IN VERY WELL, ESPECIALLY FOR THE 3 BIGGEST STRINGS.
    simon rotherforth -

    Baddrul Taib -
I bought this guitar after borrowing one from a friend. The guitar is lovely, but the supplied strings are awful. I had to replace the string peg on the bottom E (6th) because when the string tightened the peg kept popping out. I have a video clip if you'd like to see it.
    Pat Morrissey -
Very good design, sound, finish and workmanship. Extremely good value.
