The Classic Burst Mars model is a drop-shoulder dreadnought design, and is made using a great combination of Red Cedar and Mahogany.
This FRESB45 model has a wider (45mm) nut and is joined at the 12th fret, which adds an extra depth of tone and makes it ideal as a fingerpicking instrument.
Classic Burst models sound as rich and warm as they look. Using a three-tone burst finish based on deep brown, red and amber, this colouration technique is intentionally understated and is a long-standing, traditional favourite.
The tonal character has emphasis on the lower-midrange with a beautifully warm, vocal nature.

The importance of body shape:
This Faith Mars drop-shoulder dreadnought guitar is an iconic design originally introduced in early 20th century America. Recognised for its historical legacy, classic looks and superb volume, the Mars Drop-D shape is extremely versatile and truly a symbol of acoustic guitar tradition and craftsmanship.

Which tonewoods are used and why?
Classic Burst models' tonal qualities are just as impressive as their visual ones thanks to the use of a classic pairing of solid Red Cedar and Mahogany: one of Patrick's favourite combinations. Cedar, which is somewhat less stiff than Spruce, is naturally mellow, and when matched with Mahogany - and the Mars, drop-dreadnought, body shape - produces a sound that really emphasises warmth of the lower mids, delivering a delightfully 'creamy' tone.

How does it all come together?
The Classic Burst Mars has a 45mm nut which is just that little wider than most Faith Guitar nuts. This gives the guitar a little more of a traditional feel and a little more space between the strings at the headstock end of the neck. A feature often favoured by traditional fingerpickers. The top has a three-tone burst finish, based on deep browns, reds and amber and is finished with a gloss lacquer. The mahogany back has a deep stain applied, which is complemented by the solid Ebony Binding and solid Ebony fittings.

The Electronics:
Amplification of this beauty is possible thanks to the Fishman S-tone pickup system which features an undersaddle piezo pickup, controlled by an active Volume and Tone control mounted just under the edge of the soundhole. This system is super-discreet, keeping the instrument’s traditional aesthetic firmly intact.

The Case:
Your new Faith Classic Burst Mars comes complete with a plush-lined hardcase, ideal for protecting your guitar whether at home or away.
