This Venus Blood Moon is a lefthanded version of the FVBMB: An award-winning guitar on which the top, back, and sides of are crafted from the highest quality figured Javanese Trembesi. Although furniture-makers have been using native Indonesian Trembesi wood for hundreds of years, we have only recently explored its tonal qualities. And are we pleased we did!

A solid Trembesi instrument, similar to one made from Hawaiian Koa, responds much like Mahogany, providing warmth and balance throughout the spectrum while yet retaining some rosewood-like sparkle at the high end.

The Venus cutaway body shape is always a winner as the mid-sized proportions allow for easy handling for almost any sized player whilst still being big enough to sound great unplugged too.

The solid flamed maple binding and one-of-a-kind 'Blood Moon' burst finish only add to the guitar's already jaw-dropping good looks. It’s worth remembering that some guitars will have straight, prominent vertical grains and others will have horizontal 'flaming’ (or some lucky folk may find both!). But whichever your guitar has, the tone will be fabulous and the look will be absolutely distinctive.

The importance of body shape:

The importance of body shape:

The lefthanded version of the Venus: one of the three initial Faith body shapes launched in the winter of 2002. The Venus has become a reference point as the style that strikes the ideal balance of size and sound. Thanks to its 15" lower bout and shallower body, the Venus is comfortable to play for long periods yet doesn’t sacrifice tone or acoustic power.

Which tonewoods are used and why?

Which tonewoods are used and why?

Trembesi wood has long been sought after by furniture manufacturers for its magnificent beauty and stunning variety of patterns, but we've more recently been persuaded of its tonal capabilities too. A good Trembesi instrument, like Hawaiian Koa, behaves similarly to Mahogany, offering warmth and balance throughout the strings but with the addition of a little more sparkle at the high-end

This stunning guitar offers a visual treat for both you and your audience, with compliments sure to follow. Whether unplugged or amplified, you’ll also discover an instrument that reliably delivers a balanced tone, perfect for singer-songwriters and strummers. The special 'Blood Moon' burst finish is enhanced even further by solid flamed Maple binding and a solid Ebony fingerboard, bridge, pins, and headstock fascia.

The Electronics:

The Electronics:

Amplifying your BloodMoon is simple thanks to the Fishman INK3 preamp and s-core pickup system. The undersaddle piezo pickup is controlled by a side-mounted, flush-fitting preamp with 3 band EQ and a built-in tuner. The output socket is mounted into the end of the guitar with an ingeniously integrated battery box and separate strap button.

The Case:

The Case:

To ensure that your beautiful new instrument is well protected and cared for, your guitar is complete with a woodshell hard case, with padded plush interior. We do recommend that you keep your guitar in the hardcase whenever not in use, although quite why you wouldn't be playing it, we can't imagine!
