HiGloss Lyra Nylon String - Cutaway Electro

The importance of body shape:

The Lyra is a unique body shape in the Faith range, designed in our workshops to echo the dimensions of traditional nylon classical guitars. You will find that it both sits comfortably on the knee in a traditional classical pose or strapped around the neck for a more dynamic performance.
As you would expect from a hybrid nylon acoustic guitar, the Lyra has a smooth cutaway which allows upper fret access for solo pieces or well-intoned chordal inversions.

Which tonewoods are used and why?

The Faith Lyra is a member of the HiGloss series of guitars, yet necessarily it differs a little to its steel-string siblings. Unique in the HiGloss range, the Lyra has a solid Red Cedar top, which is an essential choice for a mellow nylon string tone. For the back and sides, it fits into the range with the use of solid Rosewood, with the back comprising of 3 pieces, bound all over with stunning flamed maple.

How does it all come together?

The Lyra offers the acoustic player the fabulously warm and rich traditional tone of a cedar and rosewood nylon strung instrument matched with a solid Mahogany neck with a figured Ebony fingerboard and bridge, as well as a very special figured Rosewood soundhole rosette.

Just imagine trying some of your favourite progressions or pieces with the unmistakable voice of a classical guitar, all while retaining the easy playing style of a Faith acoustic guitar. 

The Electronics:

Amplification is easy thanks to the Fishman Sonitone ‘Classic’ preamp and pickup which have been designed especially for nylon strung guitars, with Volume and Tone controls discreetly hidden just beneath the lip of the sound hole. The Lyra is a contemporary stage-ready nylon guitar with a contemporary classical look.

The Case:

To ensure that your beautiful new instrument is well protected and cared for, your guitar is complete with a woodshell hardcase, with padded plush interior. We recommend that you keep your guitar in the hardcase whenever not in use.
