The FVHG was one of the very first lacquered Faith guitars we made back in 2003/4 and not long afterward we started to offer the left-handed version too. Since its creation, the FVHG in its various incarnations has consistently been in the bestsellers list, winning several awards along the way. In 2021 we changed the rosewood back from a 2-piece to a 3-piece construction which allows our luthiers to use smaller sections of wood, many of which would have otherwise gone to waste. This means that more of each tree can be used and fewer need to be cut down in the managed rosewood plantations, and that helps keep things sustainable, which is no bad thing.

The importance of body shape:
A welcome left-handed version of 'the original' Faith body shape. Launched in the winter of 2002, the Venus has become a guitar industry reference point around the world as a style that strikes the ideal balance of size and sound. Thanks to its 15" lower bout and shallower body, the Venus is comfortable to play for long periods yet doesn’t sacrifice tone or acoustic power.

How does it all come together?
This pairing of tonewoods produces a sound that is often bright and "zingy," with excellent clarity. In terms of a frequency graph, this would look like a smile: Strength in the low frequencies, falling off in the midrange, and then rising again at the top for a wonderful treble register. This results in the much beloved Spruce / Rosewood tone: Sparkling highs, rich bass notes and fabulous articulation across the spectrum.

The Electronics:
Under the saddle of this Faith Guitar lies a Fishman S-core piezo pickup, part of the streamlined, low-profile Fishman INK3 preamp system. A chromatic tuner, three-band equaliser, and volume knob are built into the preamp and the guitar's output connector is cleverly integrated into the bottom of the instrument, making changing batteries a breeze.

The Case:
To ensure that your beautiful new instrument is well protected and cared for, your guitar is complete with a woodshell hardcase, with padded plush interior. We recommend that you keep your guitar in the hardcase whenever not in use.

Which tonewoods are used and why?
For the guitar tops, HiGloss models feature premium quality Solid Engelmann Spruce; on the back and sides, the highly figured, 3-piece Indonesian Rosewood is bound in Flamed Maple around the front and back. For the fingerboard, bridge, headplate, and heelcap you’ll find our favourite premium hardwood, Indonesian Ebony.
